NAVITEL® announces release of navigation map of Iceland

NAVITEL® has released the Q1 2014 navigation map of Iceland.

The map covers 100% of the territory of the country and includes 26 149 km of road graph, 109 cities, towns and other settlements, providing road network for 105 of them.

Detailed information on highways and roads make possible planning of a sightseeing route to any point of the island.

The map of Iceland contains 19 206 POI, including the most essential tourist attractions for your journey around the country. The beauties of the land, which you will find in the map, include glaciers, waterfalls, fjords, mountains, geysers, such as Jokulsarlon glacial lagoon, Hekla volcano, Thorsmork mountain ridge, Westman Islands, Gullfoss waterfall, Grimsey island, and the Landmannalaugar mountain region in the south-east of Iceland, as well deep canyons, lakes and snowcapped slopes.

Special attention has been paid to marking in the map of various eating places and hotels of different grades, places for recreation and shopping. The map includes residential and industrial areas and sites of cities, towns and other settlements, detailed road network, including streets and roads and taking into account traffic directions, interchanges, roundabouts and other important road information.

The navigation map of Iceland is included in the "Nordic" map package (Denmark, Iceland, Norway, Finland, Sweden), thus the navigation map of Iceland is available for free to those users who have already purchased the "Nordic" map package!
