NAVITEL® has released a major software update for smartphones and tablets running Android and iOS (iPhone and iPad). The new version of Navitel Navigator 9.10 brings a comprehensive revision of the notification system when the car approaches speed cameras or traffic restrictions.

New algorithm for notifications of approaching traffic cameras, hazardous road sections and service points
The updated version of Navitel Navigator brings new in-driving notifications to users. The notification panel lists the nearest traffic regulations and their distances. The program starts a countdown when the vehicle approaches speed cameras, radars, hazardous traffic sections and service points. Navitel Navigator includes a wide range of traffic cameras (14 types), potential risk zones (9 types) and service stations (7 types). The distance to the nearest traffic warning is shown on the right side of the screen.
If the driver chooses to place the smartphone or tablet in a vertical position, all notifications will move to the left edge of the screen below the navigation bar. If the device is vertical, notifications will move to the right side.

The improved interface helps to alert drivers not only to approaching traffic cameras, but also to their direction (same direction of travel/opposite direction) and current and maximum permitted speed. Timely Navitel Navigator notifications will help the driver to safely adjust speed, prepare for a lane change or hazardous road sections (e.g. dangerous bends, unexpected pedestrian crossings, etc.).

Speeding warning update
In the latest version, the current speed limit is displayed next to the vehicle's current speed. The driver is warned of exceeding the speed limit. If the limit is exceeded by up to 10 km/h, the current speed box turns yellow. If the limit is exceeded by more than 10 km/h, the current speed box turns red*.

*The default setting is an excess of 10 km/h. To change this setting, go to Menu > Settings > Warnings > Speeding.
Navitel Navigator software updates also include:
- improved navigation in tunnels;
- an extensive list of new POI markers (petrol stations, ATMs, shops, cafes, etc.);
- creating quick routes across two countries;
- improved map detail;
- optimized interface for devices with a 2:1 aspect ratio.
