Software update for NAVITEL® GPS navigators

NAVITEL^® releases an important software update for GPS navigators running on Windows CE.

The new Navitel Navigator 9.10.903 version features:

New algorithm for warnings about approaching speed cameras, hazardous road sections, and service points

The updated Navitel Navigator version brings users a new intelligent warning system, alerting drivers to approaching speed cameras, radars, hazardous road sections, and service points. Navitel Navigator includes a wide range of speed cameras (14 types), potential risk zones (9 types), and service stations (7 types). The distance to the nearest traffic warning is displayed on the right side of the screen. As the vehicle approaches, a countdown begins.

The improved interface helps to alert drivers not only to approaching speed cameras but also to their direction (same direction of travel/opposite direction) and the current and maximum allowed speed. Timely notifications from Navitel Navigator will help drivers safely adjust speed, prepare for lane changes, or for hazardous road sections (e.g., dangerous curves, unexpected pedestrian crossings, etc.).

Traffic cameras:

Speed (fixed speed camera). Used to detect vehicle speed.
Public transport lane (fixed camera monitoring vehicle movement). Used to detect vehicles moving in lanes designated for public transport (buses, trolleybuses, trams, etc.).
Taxi lane (fixed camera monitoring vehicle movement). Used to detect vehicles moving in lanes designated for taxis.
Bicycle lane (fixed camera monitoring vehicle movement). Used to detect vehicles moving in lanes designated for bicycles.
Road traffic (fixed camera monitoring vehicle movement). Used to detect vehicles moving in emergency and shoulder lanes.
Stop (fixed camera monitoring stop sign violations).
Solid line (fixed camera monitoring vehicle movement). Used to detect vehicles violating solid line rules or other road markings.
Traffic light (fixed camera monitoring vehicles running red lights).
Unmarked intersection (fixed camera monitoring movement at unmarked intersections). Used to detect prohibited maneuvers.
Seat belts (fixed camera monitoring seat belt usage).
Parking (fixed camera monitoring parking rules).
Headlight usage (fixed camera monitoring headlight usage).
Mobile phone ban (fixed camera monitoring mobile phone usage in the car).
Truck ban (fixed camera monitoring truck movement in restricted areas).
Mobile camera (mobile road camera). Alerts about the location of patrol cars, mobile speed cameras, etc.

Truck restrictions (restricted access for trucks). Unlike a traffic camera that detects violations of truck entry bans, this type of alert warns of signs that restrict truck navigation (entry restrictions without permission, etc.).

Updated speed limit warning

In the latest version, the current speed limit is displayed next to the vehicle's current speed. The driver is warned about speeding. If the limit is exceeded by up to 10 km/h, the box with the current speed turns yellow. If the limit is exceeded by more than 10 km/h, the box with the current speed turns red*.

*The default setting is an excess of 10 km/h. To change this setting, go to Menu > Settings > Warnings > Speeding.

New progress indicator design

NAVITEL^® GPS navigators display a progress indicator for the selected route at the top of the screen. A green cursor moves to the right on the bar, indicating what part of the route has already been covered and what part remains to the destination. In addition to the numerical representation of remaining time and kilometers to the destination in the navigation bar on the left side of the screen, the driver also has this clear option available.

The Navitel Navigator software update also includes: improved navigation in tunnels and an extensive list of new POI brands for retail chains (petrol stations, ATMs, shops, restaurants, etc.).
