Navigation system update for RE900 FULL HD

NAVITEL® has released a software update for its combo device. Navitel Navigator version 9.10 is now available to all users. The latest update introduces a significant overhaul of the notification algorithm for approaching speed cameras, high-risk road sections, and service points.

New algorithm for notifications about approaching traffic cameras, hazardous road sections, and service points

When starting navigation on the NAVITEL RE900 FULL HD device, the driver receives information on the display with a countdown to the nearest traffic camera, dangerous section, or service point. The updated version of Navitel Navigator brings new alerts to users while driving. The alert panel lists the nearest traffic regulations and their distances. The program starts counting down the moment the vehicle approaches speed cameras, radars, hazardous traffic sections, and service points. Navitel Navigator includes a wide range of traffic cameras (14 types), potential risk zones (9 types), and service stations (7 types). On the right side of the screen, the distance to the nearest traffic alert is displayed. Alerts are shown on the right side of the display when navigation is in active mode.

The improved interface helps to alert the driver not only to approaching traffic cameras but also their direction (same direction of travel/opposite direction) and current and maximum allowed speed. Timely notifications from Navitel Navigator will help the driver safely adjust speed, prepare for lane changes, or for hazardous road sections (e.g., dangerous curves, unexpected pedestrian crossings, etc.)

Speeding Alert Update

In the latest version, the current speed limit is displayed next to the current vehicle speed. The driver is warned about speeding. If the limit is exceeded by up to 10 km/h, the current speed box turns yellow. If the limit is exceeded by more than 10 km/h, the current speed box turns red*.

*The default setting is an excess of 10 km/h. To change this setting, go to Menu > Settings > Alerts > Speeding.

Other new features in Navitel Navigator 9.10.1996:

  • Latest Q3 2018 maps are available;
  • Navigation indicator in tunnels;
  • New POIs (petrol stations, ATMs, shops, cafes, etc.);
  • More detailed maps.
