NAVITEL has released a major firmware update for its flagship dashcam models – NAVITEL RS990 GPS, RS985 GPS, and RS984 GPS. The new firmware brings a series of improvements and fixes that significantly enhance device functionality and reliability.
What's new in NAVITEL RS990 GPS
A new addition is voice control, which allows drivers to operate key dashcam functions using simple voice commands – a safer and more convenient alternative while driving. A complete list of available commands and the user manual are available on the NAVITEL website.
Important: For previously sold RS990 GPS devices, this feature is available free of charge. To activate it, contact NAVITEL technical support.
Other improvements include:
- Advanced HDR settings with "Off", "On", or "HDR at night only" options, allowing for optimal video quality in various lighting conditions.
- Support for 60 fps recording in both 2K and Full HD resolution, resulting in smoother and more detailed video.
- Updated database of cameras and alerts, helping the driver stay informed and react promptly to road restrictions.
- New USB port mode selection: upon connection to a computer or car, users can now choose between data transfer mode (Mass Storage) or charging-only mode.
- Fixes for various issues, such as:
- Fixed "Daylight Saving Time" setting function
- Fixed functionality of "Motion Detection" mode
- Resolved incorrect activation of the "Screen off after 1 minute" option
- Fixed muting of assistant alert sounds when button sounds are disabled
- Fixed translation errors in Polish, Czech, Slovak, and other language menus
- Resolved file saving errors in certain scenarios
- Improved "Memory Card Test" functionality — test results are now saved to the memory card
- Other minor fixes to increase overall stability and performance.

The firmware update for NAVITEL RS985 GPS and RS984 GPS includes the same improvements (excluding the voice control feature):
- Advanced HDR settings
- 60 fps recording for 2K and Full HD resolution
- Updated GPS database of speed cameras and alerts
- USB port mode selection
- Fixes for "Daylight Saving Time", "Motion Detection", automatic screen turn-off, and assistant sound alerts
- Improved translations in device MENU
- Fixed file saving and memory card test issues
- General stability improvements
